Shadow Warrior and AC Chronicles India Headline Next Month’s Games with Gold
Microsoft has revealed a nice helping of quality Xbox games for Xbox Live Gold members in next month’s Games with Gold.
The lineup is led by Shadow Warrior, the 2013 reboot of the 90’s first-person shooter. It’s developed by Flying Wild Hog and earned some decent scores from critics when it was released. It will be free for the whole month of February. Next up is Assassin’s Creed Chronicles — India, the experimental 2.5D Assassin’s Creed game release in January 2016. It can be snagged starting February 16th and ending on March 15th. This is the second game in the Chronicles trilogy. The first game, China, was given for free in a previous month of Games with Gold. It’s possible the third game, Russia, will be offered sometime down the line.
The free Xbox 360 games — which of course are also playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility — include two unique driving games: Split/Second and Crazy Taxi. Developed by Black Rock Studio, Split/Second is something of a forgotten gem. It’s a stunt-driving action game set within a reality TV show. The game was known for its explosive race tracks and smooth driving mechanics. It will be free for the first half of the month.
Crazy Taxi doesn’t really need much of an introduction, does it? This one was released in 2010 and is a remake of the classic Dreamcast game. It’s still super fun but this version is missing the music tracks from The Offspring which, everyone knows, is a crucial part of the Crazy Taxi experience. It will be free from February 16th to March 15th.
