Hundreds of Thousands of Players Enjoyed the Sea of Thieves Alpha

A Lot of Blood, Sweat, and Bullets Were Dropped

So many years have passed since Microsoft unveiled Sea of Thieves, developed by Rare. Now, with so many players having enjoyed the technical Alpha, the experience seems more tangible, the release date more real. Beta invites are rolling out, but here’s the information gathered on the earliest version of the game.

According to DualShockers and a new infographic, 356,192 users spent time pirating on the high seas. During that time, a lot of ammo and tankards were consumed, not to mention how many pirates ended up in Davy Jones’ locker. The data shows that 583,578 tankards of grog were crushed, 1.84 million gold pieces were earned, and 3,836,103 cannonballs were fired. And, apparently, the King of Pirates is none other than Capta1n Cr0ss who’s responsible for a total of 2033 kills. Personally, I’m wondering who was the richest pirate; I want to see someone get outdo Captain Avery.

All of the above numbers were accumulated throughout a total of 54,787 days played. If Sea of Thieves lives up to the hype, we should expect to see the numbers rise exponentially before the game even releases. Remember, it’s beta time, Xbox gamers. Stay tuned for updates as we near the release date on March 20, 2018. If you haven’t done so already, you can check out the 57 minutes of Alpha gameplay previewed. And there’s much more on the way.

Happy gaming.
