[Update] There May or May not be Plans for Netflix on Nintendo Switch

Update: It appears the original tweet by ‘Netflix CS’ was inaccurate and not a reflection of the facts. The fact is, while neither company has anything definitive to share at the moment, Nintendo and Netflix are currently in talks. Below, you will find the original news post.

Maybe Someday…

If you were thinking about streaming nonstop movies on your portable console, think again. As revealed on Twitter, the official outlet for devastating news, Netflix currently has no plans to deliver a dedicated app for the Nintendo Switch platform.

The news was revealed via the company’s support account, ‘Netflix CS.’ When a prospective Nintendo Switch owner asked about the possibility of seeing the service, they responded with the following: “Hey there! There are currently no plans for Netflix on Nintendo Switch. We appreciate your feedback on it!  *JF”

And then there was silence…or outrage. For a while now, fans were left to speculate on the possibility of a Netflix Switch app. Seven months after release, many people (myself included) speculated that Nintendo was honing in on support, but the opposite seems to be true. While rival consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have had their own Netflix applications for years, there’s no sign of it for Nintendo Switch.

Even the Wii and Wii U had a dedicated Netflix app; thus, the fact that there are currently “no plans” for the Nintendo Switch is baffling, to say the least. Thoughts? Feel free to drop a comment down below. Then check back way, way down the line for updates on a Netflix-Nintendo union.
