Metro Exodus Has a Bigger Script Than Previous Two Games Combined

The Game Will Squeeze Every Bit of Power from the PS4 Pro

Undeniably, one of the most interesting games introduced this year was none other than 4A Games Metro Exodus. The game expands on every aspect of the previous two installments and, apparently, will be larger by a kilometer margin.

From an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, via Wccftech, we learn that Metro Exodus will be larger than the previous two games combined. This was revealed by Deep Silver’s Executive Producer Jon Bloch. According to him, author Dmitry Glukhovsky wrote a script that turned out far more complex and robust than the previous two entries.

“To put this into perspective, Metro Exodus’ script is larger than both Metro 2033’s and Last Light’s combined, including all DLC,” said Bloch.

As you may or may not remember Metro Exodus made its E3 2017 debut on Microsoft’s stage. The developer revealed their optimization plans for the Xbox One X. Fortunately, this doesn’t discount optimization for the PS4 Pro. Bloch affirmed that Sony’s console will get its due dedication from the team over at 4A Games: “We are putting special attention into the PlayStation 4 Pro to ensure we are using every bit of power that it provides.”

Also, what might explain the penning of a larger script is the fact that this Metro installment is moving beyond the original setting of Moscow. Bloch had more to say about player encounters this time around.

“We will encounter new societies, religions, ways of life, environments, monsters, and mutants. Some will seem familiar in some ways, and some will be completely new. As life continued after the apocalypse, it evolved in different ways outside Moscow. Some areas are irradiated in similar ways to Moscow, and some areas are clear of any toxins or destruction.”

And as revealed earlier this year, Metro Exodus will have more of a sandbox feel. Exploration will be a more prominent component of the gameplay, with a day and night cycle over grand level design. Moreover, player choices will matter.

“Choosing when and how to approach different situations will have measurable effects on the player’s experience while completing tasks. Approaching a bandit camp at night might prove advantageous to a more stealthy player, but there may be more bandits around to have to deal with.”

Stay tuned for updates on Metro Exodus as time goes by, especially for news on a release date.

Happy gaming.
