Carve out a Home Amidst the Dust and Alien Horrors
2018 is the year you go to Mars! In a videogame, at least. Memories of Mars, coming this year from Limbic Entertainment, will take players to the red planet in order to carve out a life among the dust, rocks and giant spiders. Oh yeah, Mars has those now. You didn’t know?
Like any good open-world survival game, Memories of Mars has plenty of things to do aside from fight for your life. There’s building, crafting and foraging to engage in, although an environment like Mars is probably pretty light on edible natural resources. On the plus side, all that empty space means you’ve got tons of room to create the most enormous home base imaginable. You’d hardly need to alter the landscape, either.
If you’re impatient to begin crafting your Martian empire, you may be waiting an undetermined amount of time. There’s no solid release date yet, although the Steam page says Spring of 2018. On the other hand, if you sign up on the game’s website now, you’ll get access to some rifle blueprints when Memories of Mars goes into Early Access. That might not sound like much, but you’ll appreciate the extra stopping power when facing off against those giant spiders.
