Last Month was Nintendo’s Month

If you need success stories, you can always point to Nintendo (Wii U notwithstanding). The NPD numbers have yet to come, but Nintendo came right out and revealed their sales numbers for the month of September.

According to the video game giant, the Switch took the top spot in U.S. hardware sales. That’s three consecutive months of topping the competition; five in total. Of course, now that the portable console has become more available, there’s more of them flying off the shelves. In total, the U.S. has witnessed over two-million sold units. Expect that number to rise significantly during the holidays.

Furthermore, Nintendo is doing very well in the realm of software. Best-selling games of the month include Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Metroid: Samus Returns. With the exception of Mario Kart, all were included in the top 10.

Lastly, taking into account all their handheld DS systems, the SNES classic, and the Switch, Nintendo has claimed the majority of hardware sales for the month of September. As a matter of fact, the company sold two-thirds of all sold gaming hardware in the market.  And despite all of this success, it is still ridiculously hard to find the SNES Classic.

There’s a variety of content 2017 still has in store; therefore, you should check out Nintendo’s roadmap of games if you have not done so already. Until more news comes our way,

Happy gaming.
