You Can Play Super Mario Odyssey at 1080p on Your TV

Nintendo’s Flagship Title Will Take Full Advantage of the Nintendo Switch

Eager fans can rejoice in the official confirmation that Super Mario Odyssey will run at 1080p. Docked, that is. The news comes via Nintendo Today, thanks to one of their contacts.

Over the course of the year, the builds of Super Mario Odyssey have reflected less than the 1080p benchmark. The visuals were good but probably not up to par with this generation. According to the same source, the game saw 720p resolution while docked at E3 2017. Later on, Digital Foundry revealed that it had been upgraded to 900p.

On the week before release, Super Mario Odyssey is confirmed to run at 1080p. Apparently, one avid fan received the news from an official Nintendo customer representative. The email message can be found below:

“On handheld mode, the highest resolution will be 720p, while in TV mode, the highest resolution will be 1080p.”
