This Game Just Got More Intense
Somehow, Machine Games is making the prospect of killing Nazis seem fresh in the gaming industry. We’ve seen it done since the dawn of gaming, yet it’s taking a new direction with Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Don’t know what the hell I’m talking about? Well, you can understand after watching the new trailer below, courtesy of Bethesda.
As Bethesda VP Pete Hines would say, it’s “F***ing bananas.” All the things that made the first installment great have been cranked up to 12… or 20. The Nazi forces are all over America, purging, stomping over rights and scorching the earth, slowly cutting down the population. That’s where BJ Blazkowicz enters. Returning from A New Order, Blazkowicz is joined by a host of colorful characters to take down the genocidal regime that has taken over America.
It’s a new revolution in 1970s United States, but there are all sorts of enemies to stand in your way. Luckily, there are all sorts of crazy weapons as well. As you’ve seen in the trailer, a variety of explosives and bullet hoses have been added to Blazkowicz’s arsenal. One might mistake this latest trailer for a preview of a Michael Bay movie, but with a bit more depth.
