October’s Free PS Plus Games Led by Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Another Free Triple-A Title with Your PlayStation Subscription

There are many things PlayStation does well and, lately, one of them has been delivering great PS Plus games. This month was Infamous: Second Son; last month was Just Cause 3, and next month we’re getting the critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid V.

Metal gear solid

That’s right; the last game in the franchise headed by Hideo Kojima is coming to PS4 users for free. All you need is a PS Plus Subscription. Play in an open world as Big Boss as you undertake missions of political intrigue and rebuild Motherbase.

But it’s not PS Plus without even more free games. October is also delivering Amnesia: Collection. With three nightmarish titles best played in the dark, gets your scares in The Dark Descent, A Machine For Pigs, and Justine.

The rest of October’s free PS Plus Games come as follows:

  • Monster Jam Battlegrounds, PS3
  • Hustle Kings, PS3
  • Hue, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)
  • Sky Force Anniversary, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4 & PS3)

As a reminder, RIGS Mechanized Combat League is still free from now until November 7th. Anyone who wants to step into the VR titles developed by Guerrilla Games can do so at no extra cost. Just make sure you have your headset.

Another important note: Sony is asking players to check the PlayStation Store on October 10 for “a ton of great games at great discounts.” There’s no telling what surprise titles they’ll have in store, but we’ll keep you informed on any updates.

You can read up more at the Official PlayStation Blog. More info on discounts and upcoming events await. And let us know; what are your thoughts on October’s free games for PlayStation Plus? Will you download Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain? Let us know in the comments below.
