Bandai Namco’s Tekken 7 Runs at 900p Resolution on the PS4

Less Than 1080p Is Unusual for High Profile Games

Tekken 7 is the prime fighting franchise developed by Bandai Namco Games. As it makes its way from arcade to console, we’re learning more about the changes, additions, and updated visuals. But, we were surprised by the latest news.

Tekken 7

Just so happens, Digital foundry got their hands on the PS4 version of the game. They then ran a tech analysis in which they were able to count the pixels. According to their findings, Tekken 7 on the regular PS4 offers 900p resolution. A surprise but it also means the game will run mostly at 60 fps.

While Tekken 7 will also release for Xbox One and PC, it is only VR compatible with the PlayStation 4. That’s not to say we won’t see the same with other systems in the future. Moreover, many suspect the game will run better on the PS4 Pro. More on that as updates come our way.

Between now and release, Tekken 7’s code may be updated to allow better resolution on consoles, up to a 1080p native resolution. Currently, it uses the Unreal Engine, the first Tekken game to do so.

Catch the game on June 2nd for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Before then, feel free to comment your thoughts down below. Are you bummed/surprised Tekken 7 is running on 900p? Let us know.

Happy gaming.
