Phil Spencer Talks About the Future of the Fable Series

Is There a Possibility of a New Fable Game?

Fans of the Fable series may have just gotten some good news from Xbox head Phil Spencer regarding the future of the franchise! Seeing as the last (not including spin-offs) Fable game, Fable 3, was released in 2010, this is super exciting!

The idea of a new Fable game may have been dead, considering Microsoft’s news last year about the closure of the Lionhead Studios, who was the long-time developer behind the series and was working on Fable Legends at the time. At the time of the announcement, it seemed like the Fable Franchise might have come to an end, however Phil Spencer has given fans new hope about the series!

Yesterday, in response to a curious fan on Twitter asking about the possibility of Fable 4, Spencer replied, “Nothing to announce right now but I do think the IP has a lot of places it could go.” Check out the tweet below.

Although this isn’t confirmation that something new for the Fable series will be coming in anytime soon, it does show that Phil Spencer is optimistic. It could also mean that the possibility of a new game in the franchise is very much alive. Who knows, maybe Microsoft will unveil some new games coming to the Xbox One, as well as the future Project Scorpio, at this year’s E3, one of which could be this new Fable game!
