Microsoft Confirms That A Halo 3 Remaster Is Not Happening

Microsoft Will Not Release Halo 3 Remastered for Anniversary

Even though there have been “Anniversary” editions of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, however it has been confirmed that Microsoft will not be releasing a remastered version of Halo 3. Halo community manager Brian Jarrard posted on Reddit as Ske7ch343, stating, “OMG stop. There is no Halo 3 Anniversary.”

HALO MULTIPLAYER

This confirmation came as part of Jarrard’s announcement that Microsoft won’t be showing Halo 6 at E3 next month. As Halo 3 was released in September 2007 many people thought that it would be fitting to release a remastered version of the game to celebrate its 10th anniversary.  Of course, these thoughts have been shut down…hard.

If you wanted to get in on the Halo 3 action, the Xbox 360 servers for the game are still working and if you have an Xbox One, you can play it through the Halo: The Master Chief Collection. If they were planning on ever making a new remastered version of Halo 3, chances are it would feature remastered campaigns and multiplayer support, along with an ability to change between classic and remastered graphics just like the Halo and Halo 2 Anniversary editions.

Halo 3 ODST HERO

While Microsoft isn’t showing Halo 6 at this year’s E3, they are planning on a “little something.” There has been no indication what this might be yet, however all will be revealed during the Microsoft E3 2017 briefing, which takes place the afternoon of Sunday, June 11th.
