Popular PS Vita Accessory for Easy PS4 Remote Play Receives a Crowdfunding Campaign

PS Vita Accessory With R2 and L2 Triggers Crowdfunding Campaign

A couple of years ago, Japanese manufacturer Joetsu Electronic Industries developed a unique and rather groundbreaking accessory for the PS Vita that allows for easy PS4 remote play. Now, this very same accessory, that has L2 and R2 triggers, received a crowdfunding campaign just a few days ago.

This PS Vita accessory is a grip with L2 and R2 triggers that functions by transmitting static energy from your fingers to the back pad of the handheld device via conductive rubber. Today, Joetsu Electronic Industries sent out a press release announcing that they are bringing this accessory to crowdfunding via the Japanese Kickstarter clone Campfire. The campaign is designed to help the company figure out production needs, and to provide a steadier supply of the accessory with their established customer base.

The original version of the accessory for the PS Vita 1000 has been quite popular, so much so that Joetsu had to increase production a few times. As they are a small company that does not even specialize in video game accessories, rather working on LED lighting, hydroponic agriculture and similar hi-tech businesses, they kept production limited in order to avoid having excessive inventory, Of course without knowing quite how many people wanted to purchase this accessory, they did not have enough supply to keep up with customer demands. This is indeed what led to the decision by Joetsu to bring the accessory to crowdfunding. Check out the man behind the clever accessory that looks kind of like a PS4 dualshock controller frame and the Senior Managing Director of Joetsu below.

In the few days since the campaign went live on the Japanese Kickstarter clone Campfire it has already passed the original goal of 327,500 yen. It is currently at 142% of the goal, at 468,174 yen, which is approximately $4,230 USD and there are still 18 more days to go!
