Drive the Burnout-Inspired Highway to the “Danger Zone” Coming This May

Quiet British Indie Developer with Burnout Execs Making a Blast with Danger Zone

In Petersfield, England sits a small indie developer Three Fields Entertainment. But within that small indie house, there lives Fiona Sperry and Alex Ward, the co-founders of Criterion Games and the creators of the Burnout series. So when a title like Danger Zone comes from an indie developer, you think “aw, that’s cute. We’ll race and bump cars and it’ll be fine. Good job, indie studio, you made a passable game.” Those will be the last words you utter when Alex Ward comes to collect your head.

Danger Zone is billed as “a new 3D vehicular destruction game where players crash for cash by creating the biggest car crash possible,” which is right up Burnout’s wheelhouse. Fiona Sperry isn’t shy about comparing the two, citing ““We are going back to our roots by creating a game in a genre we are truly passionate about. Danger Zone takes what made the Crash Mode featured in 2004’s Burnout 3: Takedown so popular and transforms it into an all-new car-crashing, arcade-style puzzle game. We look forward to engaging those same fans by delivering an entirely new and extremely fun experience.”

In Danger Zone, players are challenged to drive into the junction and create the biggest First Impact that causes enough vehicles to crash to earn a “SmashBreaker,” turning their car into a bomb that can explode on command. Players score for how many cars they crash, with bonus points awarded for exploding cars by hitting them while in “SmashBreaker” or for pushing them off the road entirely. If the player’s car falls off the road, it’s game over.

Looks like Three Fields Entertainment is on the “road to success.” You could say they have a “smash” “hit”! They – they are “exploding” onto the scene! They’re “Car”-azy! Alright, that’s enough.

Danger Zone is rated E10+ for everyone ages 10 and up and will be available for PC on Steam and for PlayStation 4 in May 2017 for $12.99.
