Call of Duty WW2’s First Visceral Trailer Showcases New Gameplay

Back to the Roots of Call of Duty Indeed!

Gameplay for the first Call of Duty WWII Trailer looks nothing short of compelling. As a matter of fact, this might be the most polished Call of Duty thus far. Going back to grounded, fast-action gameplay, players will re-discover the battlegrounds of the Second Great War. See where all the research and technology has brought this franchise in the new trailer below. Brought to us via livestream.

Judging by one line of dialogue, “Welcome to the bloody 1st,” players will undertake a campaign as part of the 1st Army. History buffs may know this division’s role, but, essentially, we know we’ll be playing as the American faction. Aside from paying tribute to the original Army division, this aspect of the campaign also hearkens back to old-school Call of Duty games; specifically, The Big Red One.

Whether or not we’ll be introduced to other WW2 theaters of war, that’s a question for down the line. Nonetheless, this represents the first World War II Call of Duty game since World at War released in 2008.

During the livestream reveal, Sledgehammer Games showcased none of the multiplayer. Well, they granted us a small peek, and it was a very small peak. But, from what we can gather, multiplayer maps will indeed include the D-Day landing.
