Finally We Get That Official Release Date For The Android!
Back in January we covered the news that Super Mario Run, which had been doing really well among iOS users, would finally be on Android. Well it seems that we now have a release date for the Android version. Super Mario Run will be hitting Google Play on March 23rd.
The announcement came via tweet from Nintendo America, alongside the news that it would be with the Ver.2.0.0 update. Fans are able to preregister on Google Play to receive the game. But the question remains whether or not the popularity of the iOS version will carry over into Android users. Especially those who may still feel a little shunned, as some of the comments on the tweet reveal, by the initial Apple exclusivity of the title. Also since Nintendo fans may be a bit busy switching it up.

As previously stated, the game was originally Apple exclusive. It was open to iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch users that were running an iOS 8 or higher system. The game did fairly well, and managed to pull over 50 million players and made 3 million sales. It was then announced that the mobile title would be available on Android.
Nintendo Creative Fellow Shigeru Miyamoto explained that they chose to go to Apple first because of the iOS software’s stability. So we will see if this appeases some of the more snubbed Android users.
So what do you guys think? Any Android users out there who just want to play the game? Any Apple users who thought it was nothing to write home about? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
