New Details About Telltale Games’ Guardians of the Galaxy Revealed

Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series was confirmed late last year, and today more exciting details have been announced! Telltale Games revealed that their latest episodic title is set to premiere sometime this spring for console, PC, and mobile players. Along with this amazing news, which suggests that the game is coming very soon, the list of voice actors, and some awesome screenshots were released as well!

Although the five-episode adventure game will not relate to the movies, they will draw from the comics themselves. This means, that the actors who voiced the characters in the movies will not be a part of the game series. Telltale Games announced the voice cast today, including some big names in the video gaming world:

  • Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series) as Star-Lord
  • Emily O’Brien (The Young and the Restless, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor) as Gamora
  • Nolan North (the Uncharted series, Pretty Little Liars) as Rocket
  • Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax
  • Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us, League of Legends) as Groot

The studio also revealed the synopsis for the game, showcasing it as “a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot.” Here’s the full synopsis: “In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of them has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.”

More details about Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Series will be announced at the PAX East panel on March 10 at 6 pm PST/ 3 pm EST. Players will also get to crowd play an early version of the first episode of the game on March 17 at SXSW in Austin, Texas. When the episodic series comes out later this spring, it will be available both as a physical disc, and digitally, and will include the first episode, as well as access to the next four episodes as they are released.
