Fire Emblem Echoes Limited Edition Revealed, Plus New Amiibo

A premium version of the new Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia has been announced, along with some extra perks and details. The choices for fans expand via the announcement of Fire Emblem Echoes Limited Edition.

On top of a copy of the game, here’s what will follow:

  • A hardcover Valentia artbook
  • A Valentia “sound selection” CD
  • A pin set featuring protagonists Alm, Celica, and Marth

Not to mention you’ll obtain a reversible cover made to emulate the exclusive Nintendo release in Japan. An additional $20 gets you all of the above and will help your shelf appear much prettier. Otherwise, the standard game is available at the lower price of $40.00.

But the assets don’t stop there; on May 19, the Alm and Cecilia amiibo figures shall arrive to expand Nintendo’s great lineup. Available as a $25 bundle, these amiibo unlock exclusive dungeons which–as revealed in the game’s announcement–provide new Fire Emblem’s progression: new bosses, earn new items, and fight in 3rd person mode. Moreover, amiibo grant the ability to sacrifice the health of either character to summon an “illusory hero” for one turn. Afterward, simply save the leveled stats of your character to the amiibo.

Supplementing the new Fire Emblem amiibo, Nintendo has issued in-game functions for current Fire Emblem characters in the Super Smash Bros. roster. That means Ike, Roy, Marth, Lucina, Corrin, and Robin can make appearances in Fire Emblem Echoes.

Shadows of Valentia represents this generation’s iteration of the original Fire Emblem Gaiden released on the Famicom. Stay tuned for more news about Fire Emblem Echoes and Nintendo as it comes. Happy gaming.
