Six Old-School Platformers in Capcom’s New Disney Afternoon Collection

Six Prevalent Cartoons, Obscured, Now Back in an All-New Bundle

Capcom just did a big retro rewind by revealing six classic games coming to current generation gaming. All six titles come from the developer’s first partnership with Disney, delivering beloved cartoons in playable format. Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, DuckTales and Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers shall arrive together in the all-new Disney Afternoon Collection.

Unlike before, these 2D platformers based on beloved 80s and 90s cartoons shall be playable in 1080P. Anyone met by inhales of nostalgia or a strong desire to return to old-school platforming can find gaming solace for $19.99. That gets you all the titles named, plus the sequels to Darkwing Duck and Rescue Rangers. That’s not to mention the in-game museum that grants an in-depth look behind the scenes of the original releases – A documentary kick on top of nostalgic gaming.

Additionally, each game has been tweaked to add new features, such as Boss Rush, Timed Attack, and rewind. New ways to play mean more for your money; as if it wasn’t already a great deal. The additions make for a little extra dynamism and allow the novice platformer a chance to face old-school difficulties without the associated rage. Clever on Capcom’s part.

Discover (or rediscover) The Disney Afternoon Collection on April 18. You will find it for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. And before you go, let us know your thoughts on the re-release of these platformers with upscaled graphics. Then stay tuned for more gaming news as it comes. Have a glorious day.
