Rocket League Getting that 4K Hotness on PS4 Pro

Rocket League Framerates to Improve on Base PS4 and Pro

Rocket League is getting PS4 Pro Support, according to a report from Wccftech. This same update will improve the framerates for both the 1080p and 4K versions of the game.

Single-player and two-player splitscreen will get the most benefits in terms of framerates. Three and four-player split-screen modes will still hit the 60 fps sweet spot “ in most arenas at the same resolutions”. No word yet on whether Rocket League will render in native or upscaled 4K on Sony’s enhanced PS4 console.

Wccftech also provided a comprehensive list of details regarding the upcoming update. The whole thing is listed below:

  • Hot Wheels premium DLC cars, Twin Mill III and Bone Shaker (sold separately).
  • Additional free Hot Wheels-themed post-match item drops, including both Toppers and Antennas.
  • A new fan-voted “Player’s Choice” Crate filled with some of the community’s favorite items.
  • PS4-specific technical improvements.
  • Multiple performance optimizations and bug fixes.

According to Psyonix, this update is just one of the many that Rocket League will be getting this year.

The update will go live next Tuesday, February 21st. While 4K is a wonderful thing to behold, let’s not forget this same patch is bringing Hot Wheels DLC to the table. Even if you aren’t up for spending extra cash on those sweet cars, there’s still a shot at getting the post-match loot. Now that we’ve seen Hot Wheels, the Batmobile and the DeLorean, what’s next?
