Official Fallout 4 Patch Released Today That Beefs up Graphics and Draw Distance for PS4 pro Users
Bethesda is an absolute industry giant in the gaming world. With titles like The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and Fallout 4, almost every gamer has played or at least watched someone play these sprawling, do-whatever-you-want adventures. These games are always known for their impossibly huge amount of content and attention to detail on almost every scale, small to large. One thing these games really don’t seem to focus on is breathtaking graphics. That’s about to change for PlayStation 4 players as Bethesda has released a patch for the PS4 Pro version of Fallout 4 that significantly upgrades graphic fidelity.
There have been a variety of mods released for Fallout 4 across all platforms that attempt to improve on the basic graphics of the, frankly, already great looking game. From reskinning the zombie-like feral ghouls of the wasteland, to re-coding the entire commonwealth with lush green landscapes, mods can definitely be layered to make the world of Fallout 4 more visually striking. what we got today, however, is an official patch that brings many visual improvements to the base game code like improved draw distance and light effects as well as enabling super sampling for PS4 Pro gamers. check out some of the new screenshots!

There really is no way to do justice to the update with the available screenshots. It feels a bit like playing a game of spot-the-difference, trying to compare screenshots side by side. the depth added by improved draw distance and the smoothness enabled by super sampling is most apparent when actually playing the game. The gif below gives a better impression of the added complexity this update brings to the entire wasteland.
though this update doesn’t rocket Fallout 4 to the top of the list of best-looking games, it’s a marked improvement and definitely a better way to enjoy the game especially if you are using a 4k tv and maximum resolution. If you have a PS4 Pro and Fallout 4 you need to check out this slick update!
