One Night Stands Added to Mass Effect Andromeda, Because Immersion

Everything Said, If Mass Effect Andromeda Doesn’t Get a Mature Rating, Then Somebody’s Lying

Before games like Witcher 2 came along, BioWare has been notorious for its running relationship themes of sex. It was so consistent that Saints Row IV even made fun of it with its own in-game relationships. And more and more news, we’re slowly discovering just how much content shall be in this latest installment. Among the new stream-lined combat, better side-quests, and exploration, we are receiving the opportunity for one night stands in Mass Effect Andromeda. Because immersion.

Mass Effect: Andromeda

We learn about the inclusion of more sexual content through finder.com.au and their interview with game producer Fabrice Condominas (See Source below). There was definitely some serious questions in the mix, but the interview eventually veered towards intimate in-game relationships. Specifically, the interviewer asked about trust and how building relationships affects dialogue and how it comes through in interactions.

As you may or may not have heard by now, BioWare has done away with the Mass Effect’s Paragon system in lieu of more dynamic character building. Behavior in the game, as well as chosen dialogue, influence companion and NPC perceptions of your Ryder. Naturally, this also reflects affects who will have sex with you. So when asked whether every companion is romanceable, Condominas responded, “You can have sex with a lot of people. I won’t tell if it is everyone or not, but it’s a whole lot of people. Plus you can even have one night stands.”

In the same interview, Condominas also mentioned how building companion trust grants access to new places. Through such access do players obtain new items, like for crafting weapons. Sounds as if Mass Effect Andromeda will deliver a lot more through the relationships in than past games. This is just one way BioWare is expanding on the overall experience. And if you haven’t already seen the innovations to combat and character profiles, you can click here and here, respectively.

Mass Effect Andromeda releases on March 21st for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, less than a month from now. Comment your thoughts down below and let us know your reactions to this latest news. Happy gaming.
