Conan Exiles Sells 320,000 Copies During the First Week

Just over a week and a half ago, Conan Exiles launched on PC, and today, developer Funcom shared some huge announcements. They revealed some details about the successful first week of sales, where Conan Exiles sold 320,000 units, as well as new features for the game!

Funcom CEO Rui Casais has spoken about the overwhelming first week saying, “We are deeply humbled and very grateful for the initial success of Conan Exiles. Funcom has gone through some challenging times in recent years and seeing the game we have poured so much time and effort into gain this amount of traction so quickly is very invigorating for everyone who works here. This is just the start of the Early Access adventure and we will do whatever it takes to make sure Conan Exiles turns into a fully fledged game that has something to offer new and old fans of both Conan and survival games.”

As the game costs $30 USD on Steam, the game made a total of 9.6 million dollars during the first week, which according to Funcom, makes up for the development costs. While the launch of Conan Exiles has not been without its hiccups, Funcom acknowledged that developers have been working 24/7 to take care of the server issues. We’ll just have to wait and see how much more successful the game is when it comes out in the spring of 2017 for the Xbox One, and whether the servers will be able to handle the traffic by then!

Along with the announcement of the success of Conan Exiles, Funcom announced a new feature in the form of modding tools. The best part? The mods are available today! The free Conan Exiles Dev Kit allows people to create whatever they want, ranging from small tweaks to total conversion mods. Players can upload their creations to the Steam Workshop for others to download as well.

Funcom confirmed that more details will be shared with us at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, which runs from February 27th to March 3rd and during PAX East in Boston, which runs March 10th through 12th. At PAX East, people can get their hands on Conan Exiles, as well as talk to the developers. Hopefully the release date for the PS4 will be revealed at one of the events as well!

Stay tuned for updates and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
