Nolan North: “They Mapped My Face for Uncharted 4…That’s My Face, for God’s Sakes.”

As the best-reviewed game of 2016, it’s no surprised to see Uncharted 4 win yet another award. But this time around, it wasn’t even a game outlet. In receiving honors from the Annie Awards, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is winning in the Oscars of animation. Big deal. These awards exist to recognize major achievements in all forms of animation. And this year Naughty Dog won for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Character Animation.’

In winning this year’s award, Uncharted 4 beat out the likes of The Witcher III: Blood and Wine, Titanfall 2(Happy to see an FPS nominated), and the mobile game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legends. Thus, Creative Director of the game Niel Druckmann took to twitter in order to congratulate the animators. Due praise for services rendered.

There’s no denying that Uncharted 4 is a technical masterpiece, but to see it receiving such noteworthy attention, it’s enough to make the fans feel vindicated.

Now we anticipate the next major titles from Naughty Dog: The Last of Us  Part II and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. While the former’s release date remains unknown, the latter is  expected later this year. So keep an eye out. We at COGconnected shall keep you updated as the news comes our way. Happy gaming.
