Toby: The Secret Mine is Both Stunning and Challenging
Headup Games has finally launched Toby: The Secret Mine, a beautifully handcrafted puzzle platformer for the Xbox One. Available on the PC since October of 2015 it’s been a long road seeing the game make the jump to consoles. During Toby’s adventure, the players solve challenging puzzles in an otherworldly and hostile scenery while mastering the run n’ jump gameplay passages on the fly. Wearing its inspiration on its sleeve you can clearly see how the developers pulled from standout games like Badland and more notably, Limbo. Dark silhouettes cast against eerie backdrops, it is an absolutely stunning adventure that will be sure to draw you in.
A peaceful way of life in a small mountain village is shattered. Someone has kidnapped most of its residents. A few brave souls tried to rescue their friends but none have returned. Brave little Toby didn’t want to just sit and wait to see what happens next, so he has set about on his own to solve the mystery. Entering the deep forest, he sees this may be an adventure bigger than him, but he won’t stop.
