Great news! Halo Wars 2 has gone gold! 343 Industries confirmed the game’s status via Twitter yesterday, according to a report from JustPushStart.
Although not always news, hearing a game’s gone gold can be a huge relief for any fans feeling gun-shy about delays. This is an age when too many AAA titles are pushed back repeatedly for frustrating or confusing reasons. Going gold is a point of pride and relief for both developers and consumers.
And yes, the lack of HDR support for this newest Halo game may sting. This is something people may feel is worth a delay. But a solid launch with minimal issues means better sales. This in turn leads to more budget for features like HDR in future releases.
So rejoice! Halo Wars 2 is out February 21st, 2017 for PC and Xbox One.
