New Years Begins with the Pokemon GO Update for Fan Favorites
Building of Christmas day’s first update, Niantic has made Pokemon GO more alluring by easier access to Kanto starter Pokemon. That means Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and their evolution chains are now easier to find. So from now till January 8th, players will have the best shot at owning Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise since the release of Pokemon Yellow Version for Gameboy.
And if you haven’t already done so, remember you can still catch Santa Claus Hat-wearing Pikachu. This festive pika-Pokemon remains easier to find for the duration of the update. Simply look for electric cuteness with a hat, and remember that evolving Pikachu to Raichu retains the hat. This way players can evolve and still show off their holiday catch.
Also in effect are doubled luring times. Meaning, the tools for luring Pokemon to poke-stops now last 60 minutes instead of 30. Because of this, players now have much greater likelihood of catching them all. Hence, if there was ever an excuse to trek outward into the cold weather, here it is. Pokemon GO’s update lasts until January 8. Until then, feel free to spread the Pokemon tidings. Happy New Years!
