Possible Players Flying Vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077

So Imply the Latest Job Listings from CD Projekt RED

We are still about a million years away from CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077(at least it feels that way). Part of why we know that is because they are still aggressively expanding their team. We’re talking a developer team about three times the size of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. That fact alone tells us how big they want this next IP to be. And now, recent job listings suggest flying vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077.

Herein lies the job listing that’s riled up our imaginations:

Vehicle Gameplay Programmer

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a talented Gameplay Programmer to join our outstanding team in Warsaw. The person in this position will cooperate with Gameplay & Level Designers teams to create the whole architecture of vehicle related code, and the physics of driving/flying in those vehicles. It will involve C++ coding as well scripting skills.

As you can imagine, this listing says alot. Couple this news with CD Projekt RED’s requesting government funding geared towards gaming innovations. Find it in our past coverage, Witcher 3 Developer Receives Government Funding for Better Games. In short, the dev team is working towards a more seamless experience in a much bigger and more graphical world than The Witcher 3. Considering the sheer size of Witcher 3, that speaks volumes. The amount of time, money, and labor going into Cyberpunk 2077 suggests one of the most innovative gameplay experiences to come.  But it may be prudent to stifle our hype levels just a bit.

Jobs Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date

Approximately four years have passed since Cyberpunk 2077’s announcement in 2013. That said, developers may just be getting into the meat of their game. Even after the initial announcement, CDPR said they may have made it too early. In hindsight, it certainly seems that way. The fact that their tripling the size of their team and receiving an additional $7 million in budget probably means the project is just hitting full stride.

So for now, we can continue to speculate. However, what do you think gameplay would be like with flying cars? Even Bioware’s legendary sci-fi experience, Mass Effect, has never had seamless gameplay with flying vehicles and 3rd-person action. But let us know your thoughts in the comments. Happy gaming.
