Death Stranding Looks Amazing, Spooky & Intense in New Trailer From The Game Awards

Death Stranding Gets New Footage at The Game Awards

Geoff Keighley’s annual award show, The Game Awards, took place from downtown Los Angeles. During the show we saw brand-new game reveals, new previews of announced games and a slew of awards to recognize the best gaming had to offer in 2016. Tonight, Kojima received the “Industry Icon Award” during the show and he gave us a new peek at his current project, Death Stranding.

You can check it the video below (courtesy of YouTube user XCageGame) which has a surprise appearance by a character looking like Guillermo Del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen. Interestingly, only Mikklesen appears in the the ending credits, but the resemblance is definitely visible. The video was showcased running in real time in 4K on PS4 pro, and it looked absolutely fantastic.

Death Stranding was announced with a bang at E3 this year and since the teaser trailer we haven’t heard much. A few days ago we reported that the exclusivity of Death Stranding to the PS4 could only be 18 months long. This would mean that after that 18th month, Kojima would be free to move that game to other platforms such as the Xbox One, PC or even the Nintendo Switch. This is strictly a rumor at this point but an interesting one nonetheless.

Also, Kojima will speak at a newly revealed panel at PSX on his new game Death Stranding, that will happen on Saturday, at 1:00 PM Pacific Time. According to the brief description, “special guests” will also be in attendance.
