Xbox One Backward Compatibility Celebrates 1 Year with a Great Addition

Xbox One Backward Compatibility Expands Once Again with Skate 3

Way back at E3 2015 the team over at Xbox dropped a bombshell piece of news in its never-ending fight to gain back some of its player base from Sony and the PS4. Xbox One Backward Compatibility was coming. Players would now have the chance to play their old favorites on the Xbox One. Now, the service is celebrating its one year anniversary. In celebration, Microsoft released a new trailer with the video highlighting many of the titles that have arrived on the Xbox One since the launch of the program. Games including the Halo and Gears of War franchises, Red Dead Redemption, and many others (but no Burnout Paradise just yet) are mentioned as they have their moment in the sun.

The bigger news is that alongside the trailer they’ve announced that fan favorite skateboarding game Skate 3 has been added in for backward compatibility support. Fans have been clamoring for a new entry into the series so at the very least this might keep them happy for just a bit longer. One of the best skateboarding franchises out there (and dare we say it dethroned Tony Hawk in the later years) it’s surprising that EA hasn’t announced anything for the current gen.
