Star Wars Battlefront To Get a Sequel Next Year

Star Wars Battlefront Sequel Coming Next Year

In what comes as a shock to fans and to us here at COGconnected, EA confirmed today that there will be a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront as part of EA’s line-up next year. Added to that, another Star Wars game developed by Visceral and Motive will release “most likely the following year.” This puts a tentative 2018 release window on the Visceral and Motive game.

According to the article on IGN, the next Star Wars Battlefront game will have “bigger and better worlds.”

EA says the bigger worlds are credited to having “the new movies to work off of,” rather than the “historical movies” in the current Star Wars Battlefront game.

In 2018, a Star Wars action game “part of the Motive team is working on,” along with the team from Visceral is scheduled. However, EA reports it expects to release at least one Star Wars game per year “over the next 3 to 4 years.”

EA also mentioned working with its “partners at Respawn” on another Star Wars game. “They’re very excited about that.” EA believes Respawn could “add a huge amount” to a new Star Wars game.

EA announced its financial results for the year today. The company reported $4.566 billion USD in net revenue for the year, and said sales of Star Wars Battlefront topped 14 million since the game released in November.

Hopefully this new Battlefront game will have a beefy campaign and an extensive multiplayer. We will have more news for you as it becomes available.
