UK’s Channel 4 Lauches ‘All 4 Games,’ a New Publishing Studio

UK’s Channel 4 today launched All 4 Games at the annual Eurogamer EGX in Birmingham with the newly appointed Glasgow-based team in attendance at the event’s GamesIndustry Investment Summit to declare the label open for business.

All 4 Games is a new games publishing arm set up to support creative talent within the mobile games sector – in addition to Channel 4’s existing funded games commissioning. Welcomed by the industry’s key trade associations TIGA and Ukie, the All 4 Games label will build on Channel 4’s track record as an ally for small indie producers, its gaming expertise and its marketing clout as a major media brand to help games developers launch successful and critically acclaimed mobile games globally.

Led by industry veteran Colin Macdonald, Channel 4’s Games Commissioning Editor and Head of All 4 Games, the core All 4 Games team is now set up in Channel 4’s Glasgow office. The team boasts decades of experience as developers and marketers across a range of genres and platforms as well as a genuine passion for gaming to provide premium support to small creative companies.

Commenting on the launch, Colin Macdonald said: “Having got a truly first rate team in place, we can’t wait to get out there working with games developers to help them take full advantage of the explosive growth of mobile games but at the same time ensuring they are fairly rewarded and retain their IP. By offering developers unique commercial terms and the opportunity to partner with a trusted media brand, we’re confident that the All 4 Games label and the breadth of our team’s experience will help developers launch commercially successful games that win awards.”

Channel 4 already supports the games industry through fully-funded commissions of up to six games per year in association with some of its flagship programme brands. These games have achieved mass global audiences and critical acclaim with The Snowman, Made in Chelsea, Hollyoaks and Reverse The Odds (for Stand Up To Cancer) receiving multiple nominations and wins at BAFTA, Digital Emmy, Broadcast Digital and BIMA awards.

The All 4 Games label will build a wide-ranging network of both Channel 4 funded mobile games and games from third party developers.
