10 Amazing Series Microsoft Should Bring Back From the Dead

Crimson Skies

Series creator Jordan Weisman said that Crimson Skies was about fantasy fulfillment, and not about recreating reality. That’s exactly why the flight game was so much fun. It balanced the tightrope between arcade and simulation to create a challenging game that rewarded skillful play, but was able to bend reality to make for a fun game. Considering how few flight combat games come out anymore, I think a reboot would be a great fit on Xbox One.

Kung Fu Chaos

Before Ninja Theory made Heavenly Sword and the best Devil May Cry game, they were known as Just Add Monsters. Their first game was the Xbox-exclusive Kung Fu Chaos, a light-hearted fighting game that was meant to be played at parties similar to Super Smash Bros. Not many Xbox One games scratch that same itch, and Ninja Theory has only grown as a developer since then. They could easily make one of the best action party games ever with a sequel.

It’s Mr. Pants

Rare’s actual mascot isn’t as well known as its many beloved characters, and he wasn’t actually supposed to star in his own puzzle game. Originally debuted as Donkey Kong Coconut Crackers, the puzzle game had to be rebranded once Nintendo sold their stake in the British developer. As such, Mr. Pants got to star in his own game, and it was actually pretty darn great. The block puzzler had three separate modes, and would be a perfect fit for a digital Xbox One title. It could even take advantage of the snap mode like Threes does.

Project Gotham Racing

Forza is fantastic, but I’m already getting tired of the series receiving a yearly installment. If Microsoft brought back Project Gotham Racing, they could then have a three year rotation not unlike what Call of Duty uses. PGR would need its own identity, and it could play into the arcade elements that were in past games. As long as it didn’t feature an open-world for players to explore, it wouldn’t step on Horizon’s feet either.
